A magnificent city lost in the annals of history The great Lalitaditya Muktapida had built a city called 'Parihaspora' or 'City of Smiles' near Srinagar. As per texts, the city was absolutely magnificent & contained a Vishhnu Murti made of 36000 kg of silver.

Sadly, after Lalitaditya`s death the city began to decline rapidly & the city stones were cannibalied by subsequent rulers for their construciton projects. To this day, one can see a large nuber of stones lying on the site. Our history books have no mention of this great city. His kingdom spanned from Uzbekistan to the Sundarbans. Lalitaditya defeated Junaid & Islamic invaders. Defeated Momin of Uzbekistan 4 times & killed him. Kashmir was a center for Hindu learning, research science & Hindu architecture. He encouraged all Hindu arts & sciences. From Raja Dahir's 7th century defeat to Mohd Gauri's 12th century Victory in Delhi...It took these Muslim invaders 500 years to reach from Sind to Delhi...This fierce Hindu resistance is mentioned nowhere in our History books. Lalitaditya's territory ranged from caspian sea to present day Assam including almost whole of present day India and parts of Pakistan...the western historians refer to him as "Alexander of the east" whereas our own historians have completely erased him from our History Books. Lalitaditya commissioned shrines in Kashmir. He also built many great schools and institutes in Kashmir. His empire was bigger than the Mughal empire. After his death, all temples & schools were destroyed by Islamic invaders. He does not exist in Indian or Kashmiri history books.
