This is the highest of the 5 Panch Kedar Temples & is linked to Pandavas who wre living with guilt after killing their relatives in war so were advised by Rishi Vyas to seek Penance 4m Shiv but Shiva was avoiding them as he was convinced of der guilt. So, Shiva took the form of a bull & went into hiding at Guptkashi were Pandavas chased him. Later, Shiva's body in bull form rematerialized at 5 different locations that represent the Panch Kedar. Pandavas built Temples at these locations seeking Pardon & blessing 4m Shiva. Each temple is identified with the part of the bull which rematerialized there
